Deaf That! Camp

  • Check-in: Sunday, June 9: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

    Check-out: Saturday, June 15: noon

    Camp Description:

Campers will explore and combine different modes of communication including American Sign Language (ASL) in a language-rich environment. Campers will expand their abilities in performing arts, visual poetry, language code-switching, and monologues.

Led by all deaf and hard of hearing staff members, all levels of sign language users are welcome; prior knowledge of sign language not required to join. Our specialized Deaf That! Camp will also be blended with traditional camp activities such as recreational swimming, water games, outdoor movies, and arts and crafts.

Campers leave the camp with a new level of understanding and appreciation of Deaf culture, and the need to continue to explore, create and network with their new camp friends.

All camp participants are assumed to be staying the night on campus during the duration of the camp unless we are notified otherwise during the registration period. The legal guardian will be responsible for dropping off participants at 7:30 a.m. and pick up at 7:30 p.m., respectively.  Drop off and pick up location will be between the football and baseball fields (west side of campus).

    Camp Fee:

$225 per camper. Campers staying during the weekends between different specialty camps will be charged an extra fee of $75.00 per weekend. Financial Aid available, first come first serve.
