    The point of this activity is for students to consider the problem that arises in every story and how the author solves that problem. The “Frame” is to assist teachers with the instructions for the activity and the “template is for students to use as their graphic organizer in which they consider problems, actions and solutions.     In this activity, students will use a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast 2 characters from the story. They will consider similarities and differences between those two characters. It can be done as a small group or partner activity.

    This is an acrostic in which the letters “S-O-M-E P-I-G” are used as students come up with descriptive words that accompany the letters of the acrostic. This is beneficial when students are looking at forms of poetry.

    In this activity, students will play a review game with questions set up in the style of the game show, “Jeopardy”. Depending on the size of your class will determine how you arrange teams. If your class is small, it can be a group activity, and if your class is large, you can arrange teams to play against one another.
